This project consisted of a new 14,000 square foot neighborhood fire station for the City of Berwyn. The new station includes living & sleeping quarters, full kitchen and break room area, exercise room and a meeting room. The facilities also include a 2-bay vehicle / service area, a fire prevention office, an EMS office, an administration office, a decontamination room and a hose tower.
A training room/EOC was also included in the basement, with building-wide generator and UPS capabilities to provide radio and 9-1-1 back-up. Design features also include digital temperature controls, vehicle exhaust system and gas-fired radiant heat. Allowance was made for an additional 2-bay expansion when additional property is available.
Gage Engineers provided design for HVAC, Electrical / Lighting, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Construction Administration.

North Aurora Police Facility North Aurora, IL
A new 29,000 sq-ft police facility was built to accommodate the long-term needs of the Village of North Aurora. In addition to the traditional law enforcement elements, the building also included a community / training room that also provides EOC capabilities for the Village, a flexible-position firing range allowing space for tactical training exercises, and a drive-through sally port sized to accommodate ambulance and public safety vehicles.
